Basketball: Exercise Machines

Friday, June 20th, 2008

The latest exercise machines are so well rounded that they can act as an entire gym in one unit. Many of them will work your entire body or many of your muscles, combining cardio and strength training. Rather than racking up an entire collection of exercise machines and weights, get one machine and maybe a couple of extra pieces to complete your collection.

Most of us dont have the space for an entire gym in our home. Most of us wont use an entire gym in our home. But having exercise machines at home will definitely encourage and enhance your exercise program, because you dont need to go anywhere to get a workout. Lack of time, the biggest excuse for not exercising, loses its power as an excuse, because theres no reason you cant get on your machine for twenty minutes.

Treadmills are a great choice for a machine, because its easy for most people to get on them and walk for a while. Walking or running outside isnt always practical due to weather conditions or location, but theres no reason not to hop on the treadmill. Even manual treadmills work great and are less expensive than the motorized ones. You can determine the speed and difficulty of your workout as you go.

Look for Full Range of Motion Exercise Machines
The latest exercise machines focus on full range of motion, using your own body weight and gravity to build muscle. These types of machines tend to create long lean muscle as opposed to bulky muscle that you more often get using weight machines or free weights. When you use full range of motion, you are more likely to strengthen your muscles equally and are more likely to prevent injury.

Basketball: Pilates Exercise Equipment

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Joseph Pilates originally designed a special apparatus with which to do exercises. Thus, to own the Pilates exercise equipment is actually in line with the original philosophy. The effectiveness and safety of the Pilates technique caught the attention of the dance community, where it became popular among dancers for healing injuries and strengthening. When you think of the kind of bodies that dancers have, this is the type of result that Pilates exercise equipment will bring … if you stick to it.

Pilates Exercise Equipment Brings Great Results
Theres a reason Pilates has become so popular in the last few years. The fact is that it works. It focuses on full range of motion and isolation of muscles, as they work in tandem with each other. For example, similar to yoga, Pilates exercise equipment helps you to work your back and abdominal muscles simultaneously.

Pilates is very safe, because the movements are slow, and you dont experience heavy impact. Instead of moving in the same direction and angle like you do with regular exercise machines, the Pilates exercise equipment encourages various angles and a wider range that develops the muscle fully while lengthening it. Instead of building bulk, youll tone and create long beautiful lean muscle.

You can work all of your muscle groups with the Pilates table. An instructional video often comes with the table so you can see the many exercises you can do with it. The strength building occurs when you pull bands that rely on gravity and your own body weight to build your muscles. Therefore you wont have to worry about taking on too much weight where you could easily injure yourself.
